The City of Novato Requests Proposals for Historic Depot Site

On July 30, 2018 the City of Novato released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Historic Train Depot and Site, located at 695 Grant Avenue in Downtown Novato. Earlier this summer, the City Council unanimously approved the RFP process for the renovation and reuse of the city-owned Depot and site to activate this new gateway into Downtown. This direction came after months of extensive community outreach and engagement, which will continue throughout the RFP process.

Peggy Flynn, the Assistant City Manager who’s overseeing this project, says the project is on schedule. “We are inspired by our community as they’ve shared what they’d like to see in our Downtown. This project is an exciting opportunity to really activate an integral part of Downtown Novato—and a new gateway to our City.”

The City is now accepting proposals with a due date of Monday, October 1, 2018. City staff will return to the community in the October/November timeframe to host a public workshop/open house with proposals that meet the minimum qualifications.
